SANDUSKY, Ohio — The local mental health board has received more than $1 million of new grant funds to help it deal with the ongoing battle against opioid addiction.
Cronin said the money will be used for several activities: Drug testing for people on probation in the court system, the revived Erie County Drug Court and the Erie County Family Dependency Treatment Court, recovery housing, medication-assisted treatment for people in jail and for training, Cronin said.
Diane Taylor, deputy director of the agency, discussed the grant at the board’s last meeting and said the money will be used to expand medically-assisted treatment to inmates at the Ottawa County jail, a program that’s already being provided to inmates of Erie County’s jail.
