SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. — The jail is now equipped with GUARDIAN RFID, a software program that helps with inmate monitoring and inmate tracking.
Each corrections officer is now given a handheld device, which is used to scan each individual cell. The officers are able to see a list of inmates inside the cell, and whether they are out of the jail for court appearances, etc.
The software was around $134,000 and was purchased with grant funds.
